Hours: 38 hours per week.
Salary: £17,191.20 per annum
Job Summary
To work as part of a team to support adults with Autism Spectrum Condition and/or learning disabilities to reach their full potential within a supported living environment.
Duties
- To participate in the planning, implementation, monitoring and review of personal development plans & person centred plans, taking account of their needs
- To provide assistance with personal care where appropriate
- To participate in service user risk assessments both at home and in the community
- To help organise and plan reviews and attend meetings
- To actively encourage service users to meet new people where appropriate and encounter new situations
- To ensure that the service meets the cultural needs of the individual user
- To account for any petty cash transactions undertaken
- To actively encourage service users to have contact with family and friends, where appropriate
- To maintain service users’ records in line with organisational policies
- To accompany service users in community activities
- To support service users in following housing management policies and procedures
- To support service users with their day to day financial matters
- To support service users in the management of their own personal care
- To encourage service users to handle and plan preparation/consumption of meals and snacks and to implement strategies to manage excessive eating
- To undertake domestic duties as appropriate including cleaning, cooking and shopping
- To actively encourage service users to participate in independent living activities in line with their service user plan
- To work with the behavioural team to support users in managing challenging behaviour
- To attend and contribute to staff meetings, workshops, training courses, conferences and seminars as and when appropriate
- To attend regular supervision meetings with the line manager
- To understand and observe the need for confidentiality
- To report immediately to a line manager any incident, suspicion or sign of physical, verbal, mental, sexual or financial abuse of a service user
- To act at all times in accordance with Hoffmann Foundation for Autism policies and procedures, especially equal opportunities, confidentiality and health and safety
- To undertake any other reasonable duties required by the Unit Manager

Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience working with adults on the Autism Spectrum (Essential)
- NVQ or QCF in Health & Social Care (Desirable)
Knowledge
- Understanding of autism and learning disabilities (Essential)
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills (Essential)
- Understanding and commitment to ordinary life principles (Desirable)
- Knowledge of housing management policies (Desirable)
- Basic IT skills (Essential)
