Location

4 Park Avenue is a spacious and attractive 3 storey residential home providing 24-hour support for a maximum of 6 individuals. The home is located close to all the amenities of Wood Green high street, such as VUE cinema, Wood Green shopping mall as well as numerous restaurants and pubs. We are also walking distance to Alexandra Palace with its calm open spaces, boating lake, mini golf course and ice rink. There are good transport links with Wood Green underground and bus stations as well as Alexandra Park overground station being close by.

Client Group

We provide personalised support for people who have a primary diagnosis of autism; individuals may have an additional learning disability or mental health need. Currently we support three men and one woman. Their average age is 52 years.

Activities

Focusing on personal development and independent living to improve the quality of life of adults with an autism spectrum difference (ASD), we provide an individual and personalised autism approach. Each person has their own structured activity boards to help communication and day to day planning. Individuals enjoy a variety of activities both in their own home and in and around the local community, including access to activities held at the Hoffmann Hub, which is located next door.

Individuals have their own bedroom, which they are encouraged and supported to maintain and personalise according to their own preferences; support is also offered with daily household and garden tasks.

We encourage people to be fully involved in the management of their home, we hold monthly resident involvement meetings, and each person is supported to engage, for example, with menu planning, colour schemes, activities etc.

Staffing

The staff team comprises of a Service Manager, one Deputy Manager and eight Support Workers two of whom are Waking Night.

Our staff are fully trained to support individuals on the Autism Spectrum with complex needs. We provide a range of statutory and specialist training to ensure that the individuals we support have the optimum opportunity to grow and live as independently as possible within their own potential.

The staff team is supported by the Registered Manager, our Therapeutic Support Service and Autism Consultant, who provide specialist advice and training, as well as hands-on support.

Collaborative Working

We work closely with family members and recognise the value and knowledge that only they can provide.

We aim to work closely with Care Managers and other professionals involved in the care and support of those living at Park Avenue and encourage openness and transparency.
